Emily Irene VanCamp, who was originally a professional dancer, became fascinated by acting after visiting her sibling Katie at the Ladies Room set. While taking classes in acting as well, she also got part-time roles in Canadian television programs. She was on as a guest on several shows in the series Are You afraid Of the Dark? Radio Active. VanCamp made a success in his career when being cast in Glory Days, the WB Mystery Horror show. Although the show received positive critiques, it's poor rating led to it being cancelled after just nine episodes. The May 12th, 1986 actress immediately secured a new role in Everwood. The character she plays Amy Abbott is one of the major characters. In this role, she was the one that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and also four Teen Choice Awards.
